Has anyone else struggled to put their ideas into words?

I thought I understood my economics topic until I actually started writing about it. During lectures everything seemed clear but now that I have to explain the concepts and connect them to real examples I feel completely stuck. I have spent the last few evenings staring at my draft and deleting more sentences than I keep. Last night I became so frustrated that I found myself thinking can someone help me write economics essay sections that actually make sense because I honestly do not know if I am heading in the right direction. Has anyone else gone through this with an economics assignment?
